What We Do

1. We List Government-Verified Businesses

Every business listed on Kashmir Stay undergoes a verification process to ensure they are legally registered, licensed, and recognized by the Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department or other relevant government authorities. We verify:

  • Hotels & Resorts: Registration with J&K Tourism, valid trade licenses
  • Houseboats: Houseboat Association membership, Dal Lake Authority permits
  • Travel Agencies: Ministry of Tourism registration, GST registration
  • Tour Operators: IATO/TAAI membership (where applicable)

This verification process helps tourists identify legitimate businesses and avoid scams, unauthorized operators, or unregistered accommodations.

2. We Provide Detailed Business Profiles

Each business listing on Kashmir Stay includes:

  • Business name, type, and location
  • Contact information (phone, email, website)
  • Services offered
  • Photos and gallery
  • Customer reviews and ratings (submitted by real tourists)
  • Business operating hours and seasonal availability

These profiles help tourists make informed decisions based on services offered, location, reviews, and pricing (where shared by the business).

3. We Enable Direct Communication

Kashmir Stay provides direct contact options — phone numbers, WhatsApp, email, and website links — so tourists can communicate directly with businesses. All inquiries, bookings, negotiations, and payments happen directly between the tourist and the business.

We do NOT act as an intermediary. We do not take commissions, booking fees, or service charges from tourists. Our revenue comes from business listings and premium advertising placements, not from tourist transactions.

To maintain trust and quality, we verify every business before listing them on Kashmir Stay. Here's how:

Step 1: Business Registration Check

We verify that the business is legally registered with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, holds necessary trade licenses, and is compliant with local tourism regulations.

Step 2: Tourism Department Verification

For hotels, resorts, and travel agencies, we cross-check their registration with the J&K Tourism Department's official database.

Step 3: Physical Location Confirmation

We verify that the business operates at the stated address in Kashmir and is not a fake or shell entity.

Step 4: Contact Verification

We confirm that the phone numbers, email addresses, and websites listed are active and owned by the business.

Step 5: Ongoing Monitoring

If a business receives multiple negative reviews, complaints, or is flagged by tourists, we investigate and may suspend or remove the listing.

However, verification does NOT guarantee service quality. A verified business is a legally registered business, but this does not mean their services will meet your expectations. Always read reviews, ask questions, and clarify terms before booking.
